Christmas Eve! Three spirits whisk Scrooge away on a whirlwind journey of self-discovery. Can he change? Will he want to? Tumbling with Dickens’ amazing characters this faithful, full scale, exciting musical adaptation sparkles and captures the magic of Christmas which last played to capacity audiences at here in Billingham!
The production is atmospheric, colourful and beautifully costumed and propped. It utilizes a full scale composite set plus various cloths to represent the magical sky for the night-time journey, Fezziwig’s ball, a London Street and various atmospheric gauzes. Intimate, moving scenes contrast with full stage, energetic company numbers and Dickens’ timeless classic is transported magically and with integrity from the page to the stage.

The star cast includes Steven Pinder as Scrooge who has performed in Wicked in the West End. Michael Starke as Marley’s Ghost is best known for his roles in Brookside and Hairspray in the West End. Peter Chapman as Bob Cratchit who has previously played Joseph. Janet Cowley as The Ghost of Christmas Past has performed in The Phantom of the Opera. Lynn Francis as Mrs Fezziwigg is known for her role in The Royal and finally Peter Brindle as The Ghost of Christmas Present has played several leading roles in touring productions including Anne Dalton’s ‘Her Benny’.
The professional cast is also joined by teams of talented local young people, who play the various juvenile roles and urchin ensembles.
